Eurosurf 2011 Eine kleine aber feine Delegation von Surfern hat auf der grünen Insel die Schweiz am Eurosurf 2011 vertreten. Es war ein toller Event und zwischen den Heats kamen alle dazu die feinen irischen Reefbreaks zu surfen. Ein spezieller Dank geht an Mark Fessler, der in Irland eine gute Leistung in der Masters Division zeigte und sich mit seiner Teilnahme mit dem Schweizer Team nach einer langen Karriere vom Wettkamof verabschiedete.

Zarautz, Basque Country (Sunday, September 18, 2011) - Vincent Guillemaud has taken out fellow Swiss surfers Matthieu Honegger, Cyril Inauen and Mark Fessler to claim his second Swiss Surfing Champion title presented by Victorinox. In the ladies division it was June Geisser, newcomer of the year in 2010, who with only 13 years of age was able win against her older and more experienced opponents Anja Hürlimann, Alena Ehrenbold and Celine Gehret.
The final day of the SSA Swiss Surfing Championships 2011 saw clean conditions with nice shoulder high beachbreak waves throughout the day. The level of surfing was the highest ever seen at the national championships with many strong contenders to the title in both the open and the ladies division. With past champions like Martin Müller and Matthieu Honegger, repeated team riders like Gabriel Benesenes or Mark Fessler and newcomers like Cyril Inauen the title was probably as hard to get as ever in 2011. In the ladies division there were nine surfers showing that the level in female surfing is also increasing continuously. The fact that a 13 year old took out the event also marks the moment where the next generation of Swiss surfers start to get in the mix.
The best surfer have qualified to represent Switzerland at the World Surfing Games 2012. Many prizes were given away including surf gear from surfboutique.ch, cash cheques and cool trophies. But it was the winner of the open division, Vincent Guillemaud, who had the biggest smile as he was handed the brand new surf board courtesy of Victorinox by contest director Tino Stäheli. At the end everybody enjoyed the secret recipe Mojitos and a couple of beers at The Surfcamp before heading to the city of Zarautz for a bit of partying. See you next year!

Zarautz, Baskenland (Sonntag, 18. September 2011) - Vincent Guillemaud gewann seinen zweiten Swiss Surfing Champion Titel gegen Schweizer Surfer Matthieu Honegger, Cyril Inauen und Mark Fessler. Bei den Ladies war es June Geisser, 13 Jahre alt und Newcomer in 2010, welche den Titel gegen erfahrene Surferinnen wie Anja Hürlimann, Alena Ehrenbold and Celine Gehret gewann.
Der Final-Tag von den Swiss Surfing Championships 2011 präsentiert bei Victorinox hatte gute Konditionen mit sauberen, schulterhohen Wellen durch den ganzen Tag hindurch. Mit vielen sehr starken Teilnehmern im Surf Open und Surf Ladies war der Surf-Level dieses Jahr so hoch wie noch nie zuvor. Die Eroberung des Titels war sehr schwierig, mit früheren Champions wie Martin Müller und Matthieu Honegger, wiederkehrende Team-Riders wie Gabriel Benesenes oder Mark Fessler und Newcomers wie Cyril Inauen. Die 9 Surferinnen in der Ladies Division zeigten der selbe, hohe Level an Surfing. Die Tatsache, dass eine 13 jährige gewann, zeigt das die nächste Generation von Schweizer Surfern bereit ist mitzumischen.
Die beiden Gewinner (Open und Ladies) der Swiss Surfing Championships 2011 werden die Schweiz nächstes Jahr an den ISA World Surfing Games 2012 vertreten. Der Surf Open Hauptpreis, ein brand-neues Surfboard gesponsert von Victorinox, ging an Vincent Guillemaud. Dieser nahm es mit einem grossen Smile vom Contest Director Tino Stäheli entgegen. Die anderen Preise waren Surfgear von surfboutique.ch, Bargeld und coole Trophäen. Nach der Rangverkündigung und Preisvergabe ging es mit Mojitos und Bier im The Surfcamp mit Feiern weiter bevor die Party sich Richtung Zarautz-Zentrum verlagerte. Bis zum nächsten Jahr!

Le 4 septembre prochain à Montreux, ton coup de paddle fera du bien à + de 200 enfants défavorisés du Pérou. L'association WAVES for Development organise une course de relais en SUP dont le bénéficiaire est le programme éducatif de surf 2012 de Lobitos au Pérou.
Le concept est simple. Tu parraines un km (50.-) et tu le fais à l'aide de ta SUP (SUP sur place à dispo si jamais). Le record à battre est 150km parcourus durant la journée par tous les surfeurs.
Alors si tu veux une fois dans l'année, participer à un événement qui fait du bien au Monde, entièrement bénévole, rejoins-nous et ensemble réalisons une pure journée de ride, de surf, de solidarité et d'amitié!

King of the lake - European Wakesurfing Cup For the 8th year in a row The French Wakesurfing Association (AFWS) and Talloires Organisation, together with Wake the Best wakesurf and wakeboard school, proudly present their wakesurf event « King of the Lake ». In addition, this competition will be this year the first European Wakesurfing Cup. The event will be held on the 3rd and 4th of September 2011 in Angon, Talloires, Annecy Lake.
